2023 Justice Assistance Grant

The purpose of this joint application is to provide resources for Gaston County’s three largest law enforcement agencies to enhance their capabilities for preventing, intervening, suppressing and managing crime and disorder within each agencies respective jurisdiction. Each agency has their own set of needs and this funding will help to alleviate financial burdens currently being experienced in Gaston County. 

The 2023 Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) will provide resources for Gaston County’s law enforcement agencies to respond to local needs and conditions by 1) providing tools and equipment to improve corrections deputy’s safety and wellbeing while working in the field and in the jail, 2) to provide technical equipment for officers to streamline their law enforcement duties and to assist with area crime reduction, and to 3) enhance law enforcement capabilities by helping to outfit needed equipment for emergency situations and to build community relations.
