CMPD's FY2023 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance (JAG) Program

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department and Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office proposes to use funds to retain Cadets in the Police Cadet Program to enhance their knowledge of CMPD operations, provide summer interns the opportunity to learn what it takes to become a sworn officer, provide overtime for the Lab to process evidence backlogs and work priority cases, provide overtime for Patrol to aid in reducing crime, purchase Bola Devices to expand responses to combative detention center residents, purchase BEE III Radar units for installation in marked vehicles, purchase Weapon Storage for enhanced security, and purchase a Van to transport employees to training.
