The County of Nassau, New York, will utilize JAG funds to support the goal of improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the criminal justice services system in order to reduce violent crime, including gun violence, thereby promoting public safety. Specifically, funding will cover overtime funding for Nassau County Police Department personnel to conduct evidence based and smart policing anti-crime operations in areas where there are high incidences of violent crimes, as identified through crime analysis and intelligence development.
