The City of Ardmore and Carter County Sheriff's Department of Oklahoma, are committed to their goals of providing the highest quality of service to the citizens of Carter County and equipping its officers with the tools necessary to prevent crime and perform their duties efficiently, effectively and safely.
The problems and priorities (Identifiers) for the City of Ardmore and Carter County are: Equipment-General, Officer Safety, Systems Improvements, Evidence-Based.
The City does not have gas masks to equip all officers. To increase and protect officer safety, the City will purchase full face gas masks with filters. Distribution of approximately thirty-three (33) masks will increase officcer protection and safety, in situations where gas, hazardous chemicals and biological agents might otherwise, incapacitate officers.
The County will purchase an evidence management system that would allow for a more efficient, effective and sustainable operation, for processing and maintaining, physical and digital evidence. To improve methods, techniques and efficient workflow, the evidence management system will: concentrate evidence into a singlel hub for simple file access and tracking; preserving a chain of custody from initial discovery through lab processing; the judicial process and final disposal; ensuring an accurate audit trail; and, thus safegaurding evidence.
Each agency will procucre the equipment per their agency procurement policies. Both agencies have an anticipated completion date of January, 2024.
