DOJ 2023 Edward Byrnes Grant

The disparate jurisdciations of The City of Lawton Lawton Police Department) and the Commance County Sheriif's Department will use JAG funds for equipment and upgrades to specific equipment.
Specifically, the Lawton Police Deparment will use the funds to secure 2 boat motors in order to maintain proper patrol of the city lakes and to ensure the safety of the lake patrons, and Red Dot Pistol Sights.
The Commache County Sheriff's Department will use the funds to purchase Desktop computers and Monitors in order to properly maintain records and process offense reports for the citizens of the county, to purchase GPS handled devices for crimes scene locations, dual temperature Cyanocrylate funming chambers, Blood ID strips, and evidence processing equipment to improve their ability to more effectivley process crime scenes. The following items would be used in patrol division, dual charge flashlights, Thundersledge hammer and tool for needed quick entry into dwellings K-9 Hot n Pop door release, lock out kits to assist citizens when accidently lock doors without having access to regain entry,as well as Garmin GPS devices to be used for faster routes when answering calls and transporting prisoners. The remainder of grant funds would be used for practice ammuntion to improve shooting profiency of deputies.
