Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2023, $253,556)
The disparate jurisdictions of Allegheny County and City of Pittsburgh will use JAG funds for sustaining a critical position, overtime for training, and to update and add equipment. Allegheny County will use JAG funds to reimburse the District Attorney for a mental health professional and the Sheriff’s office for overtime to cover shifts while deputies are at training. The police department will purchase specialty gas masks and filters for their SWAT team, in-car printers, a thermal imaging camera, and replace/add safety supplies. The City of Pittsburgh will purchase Axon camera system compatible holsters for police officers.
