Rapid City Police Department JAG application

The Rapid City Police Department and Pennington County Sheriff’s Office are applying jointly for the FY23 JAG Grant. The two agencies act as regional support for investigations and evidence collection. The total funding amount for this year is $119,895. The total grant funding will be utilized to upgrade digital forensic storage systems and equipment for obtaining digital evidence. The technology supporting these investigations is outdated and requires time-consuming back-end work and can compromise evidentiary processes with data corruption. The purchase of the equipment and digital storage will increase their capabilities and operational capacity and support other criminal justice components in the area.
