Purchase of failing safety equipment used in traffic enforcement. Current equipment has gone beyond service life as well as no longer technologically usable with parts becoming obsolete.

The City of Abilene will use JAG funds to purchase mobile radar equipment to replace outdated and obsolete equipment on four (4) motorcycle traffic enforcement vehicles already in use by the Department. The Department will also purchase three (3) new LIDAR sytems to replace aging radar equipment. 

The County of Taylor will use JAG funds to purchase sixteen (16) pepper ball less lethal pieces of equipment to enhance the safety of deputies on patrol as well as citizens within the county. This will equip additional deputies with the resources needed.
