FY23 Byrne JAG

The City of Virginia Beach proposes to implement the following projects:

Police Department: 1.) Gun Locks, 2.) K-9 purchase, 3.) Mounted Patrol horse and euipment, and 4) Under door camera. 
Expected outcomes include safer communitiies with the inception of a gun lock program; both K-9 and Mounted Patrol units will have capacity to continue to perform community oriented policing activities: and our SWAT team will have additional capabilities to mitigate threats. The general public and police department personnel are the intended beneficiaries of the project.
 

JDRC  proposes the following projectL 1.) Contracted manpower The purpose is to reduce backlog of expungement records The expected outcomes is to eliminate the backlog; and convert paper files to electronic records to expedite access to court documents for hearings. Intended beneficiaries of the project include all court users including attorneys, law enforcement, the public and city Records staff.
