Supporting recruiting efforts to enhance workforce diversity opportunities

The City of Oshkosh Police Department will allocate a portion of the grant funds to support recruiting and retention efforts to reach potential applicants from a wide range of backgrounds, experiences, and cultures.  Additionally, the department is seeking to add a restraint system to its patrol equipment.  The system is designed to protect a subject and personnel by safely securing a subject, allowing the person to be in an upright position, and reducing any physical threat to officers or emergency personnel.  The disparate jurisdiction, Winnebago County Sheriff's Office, intends to replace radar units for squads with a portion of the grant funds.
