Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2023, $370,000)
The State Attorney’s Office for the Ninth Judicial Circuit (SAO9) is currently unable to accurately capture and analyze crime data to assess local crime trends and implement more effective processes and policies for the reduction of crime and an increase in public safety in Central Florida and proposes to update its case management system. After over twenty-years of utilization and custom programming of the system to perform different functions, the information in the system has become inundated with so much data that, depending on what information the user is seeking, the system generates reports and information that are inconsistent, inaccurate, or incomplete. As such, SAO9’s attempts to track accurate crime trends, caseload volumes, caseload types and other statistics in our area is time consuming and labor intensive at the very least, and often times impossible.
