Mississippi FY23 JRJ Program

The project goals are to encourage qualified attorneys to choose careers as prosecutors and public defenders and to continue in that service; to administer in such a way that gives priority to those eligible applicants with the least ability to pay; and to equally disburse awards to different geographic and demographic areas of the State of Mississippi. MSAGO and the Mississippi Office of Indigent Appeals have agreed to perform outreach to all potential applicants through a variety of outlets. MSAGO will efficiently administer the program fairly throughout the State of Mississippi using a least-ability pay formula while maintaining as equal as possible geographic representation of eligible applicants. MSAGO will collect and provide data to measure the performance of the program.
