Washington State John R. Justice Prosecutors and Defenders Incentive Program

The Washington State Department of Commerce proposes to implement the John R. Justice Grant Program for the state of Washington. This program will support state and local efforts across the state, to recruit and retain talented local, state, and tribal public defenders and prosecutors and qualifying federal defender attorneys. The program will reach this goal through student loan repayment assistance for attorneys with the least ability to repay their student debt who agree to commit to extended employment in public interest law.
