Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2023, $892,027)

The Bartholomew County Adult Drug Court, located at 555 First Street, Columbus, Indiana, 47201 is requesting Category 2: Enhancement funding for the purpose of expanding recovery support to the ADRC participants. The primary activities of this court is to provide motivation, insight, skills, and recovery support to high risk/high need non-violent criminal offenders who suffer from SUD, and often mental health issues as well, in an effort to assist them to succeed in recovery, improve their lives, and reduce criminogenic and substance use recidivism.  The expected outcomes as a result of this project include reduction in criminogenic recidivism rates and sustained sobriety.  The target population is people whoare eligible for this court who are residents of Bartholomew County Indiana or under the jurisdiction of the Bartholomew County Court.  An estimated 150 participants will receive the proposed project services over the 4 years of the grant.  The total amount requested for the duration of the grant is $892,027.  Bartholomew County will provide a 25% match. The ADRC utilizes the evidence-based Indiana Risk Assessment System (IRAS) tool for criminogenic risk assessment and multiple other clinical assessments to address clinical issues including depression, anxiety, and mental health needs.
