Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2023, $949,939)

The Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office proposes to enhance the Oklahoma County Veterans Treatment Court (OCVTC) program. The purpose is to: enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of OCVTC by Integrating VRSS access by multiple team members; expand the number of veterans served in OCVTC; increase monitoring capabilities for veterans with alcohol dependency; increase the number of drug tests paid for by OCVTC; contract with research partner; send OCVTC team to national and state conferences annually; and partner with The Education and Employment Ministry (TEEM). Expected outcomes include: providing a more streamlined entry into OCVTC; early identification and service verification for OCVTC applicants; enhancing services for indigent or near indigent veterans; improved adherence to best practices and improved program practices; increased skills and knowledge of OCVTC team members; and providing increased social and community resources to veterans.
