The purpose of this grant would be to provide a way for veterans to be able to afford mandated drug and alcohol monitoring while they’re participating in VTC. One of the requirements when entering in the program is to abstain from drugs and alcohol while they’re in the program. Testing
measures may include urinalysis (UA), breathalyzer, saliva strips, patch testing, secure continuous remote alcohol monitoring (SCRAM) or other testing devices. These devices can cost up to $20,000 per year per participant. VTC maintains 25 participants each quarter. The Federal Grant will enable VTC to provide court-mandated treatment to veterans.
