Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2023, $300,000)

The Greeley Police Department is looking to create a Real Time Crime Center (RTCC). The purpose is to leverage current and future software systems and technology to track, monitor, and research public safety events that occur within its jurisdiction. Project activities include joining intelligence-led policing methodologies and tactics with public and private camera networks and other supporting technology to provide live video feeds to center staff, who in turn provide real time incident information to first responders; implementing post incident evidence collection for prosecution; and ingesting and analyzing surveillance video, crime trends, and data from several sources in real time for use in data-driven approaches to crime and traffic safety. Expected outcomes include reducing response time for first responders, an increase in criminal arrests, a decrease in occurrences of violent crimes, and using the data and intelligence obtained from the center to implement comprehensive strategies for reducing violent crime overall.
