Reducing Violent Crime in Oswego County Using Digital Forensics

The Oswego County Sheriff's Office will utilize grant funds to integrate digital forensics and DNA testing into its overall crime reduction strategy of problem-oriented and hot spot policing supported by community-based outreach strategies. The purpose of integrating digital forensics and DNA technology into its crime reduction strategy is to reduce an increased number of locked phones and other devices during investigations and reduce outsourcing DNA testing to other local agencies.
