Lovelock Safe Reservation Program

The Lovelock Paiute tribal court currently has no mechanism in its operations that allow follow up on any court ordered adjudication for tribal members and non-tribal members who have violated Lovelock Paiute laws and ordinances. With this project, the Lovelock tribal court intends to institute a sworn probation/drug coordinator to the structure of the Lovelock Paiute Court. Their duties will include physical monitoring of defendants that are granted probation or other alternative sentencing efforts from the courts. This officer will be responsible for court-ordered drug testing and for facilitating monthly drug training in the Lovelock Paiute Reservation area for members and those with adjudicated cases through the Lovelock Paiute tribal court. This proposal will enhance alternative sentencing measures.
