Native Village of Port Heiden Tribal Court Expansion

The Port Heiden Tribal Justice team will be able to increase the capacity, infrastructure, and ability of our Tribal Court to serve our people, expand programming for Tribal Court Operations, complete another community needs assessment, support our staff and Tribal Judges, plan a traditional wellness court, support prevention efforts, and address high rates of incarceration through a diversion program for low-risk offenders. We will be able to pay for transportation for participants in tribal court, create learning opportunities and hold prevention activities to decrease the need to bring cases before the court.
