Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2023, $10,073)

The Fort Peck Tribal Courts' goal during the proposed 24-month project period is to utilize the $10,186 to contract with a reputable social marketing firm to develop infographics that visually describe the unique Fort Peck Tribal Court Processes for use in social media posts, websites, billboards, and posters.  According to the Chief Judge of the Fort Peck Tribal Courts, “Infographics would assist with our transparency movement that directly affects our public trust components.” Our objectives for this project are: 1) Establish an infographic working group; 2) Conduct procurement activities in compliance with Tribal and Federal procurement to secure a consultant services contract; 3) Develop schedule of meetings and deliverables; 4) Seek public comment on design and information; 5) Obtain a Tribal resolution to approve the final deliverables for dissemination to the public; 6) Post, distribute, and publish infographics; 7) Coordinate required programmatic and fiscal reporting to the funding agency; 8) Closeout grant activities.

Our project also meets the BJA Area of Emphasis: Advancing Justice System Reform Efforts.  For the Fort Peck Tribal Courts this means more direct information about the Courts is provided to the communities and establishes transparency of processes, encourages questions about these processes and informs victims about available services and timeframes for obtaining justice.
