Enhancement of training via the utilization of virtual reality based technology.

The primary goals for the Cincinnati Police Department Virtual Reality De-escalation Site-Based Initiative include: further developing the existing virtual reality program by purchasing three new systems and additional safety equipment, allowing Cincinnati Police Department to create a collaborative working group of local partners who will have access to de-escalation training; provide guidance on promising practices through the development and testing of innovative strategies; build knowledge about effective practices and outcomes; and support creative approaches to reducing crime and promoting safe communities.

The virtual reality de-escalation training workshops would be implemented into several training sessions conducted for the sworn personnel including police academy training, in-service training, field training officer training, and remedial training.
