Proposal of the Tribal Judicial Institute at the University of North Dakota School of Law for the FY 2023 Category 4 Tribal Justice Training and Technical Assistance Program

The Tribal Judicial Institute (TJI), along with its primary partners, will provide consistent, culturally relevant, comprehensive, and user-friendly TTA to tribes funded by BJA and OVW as they develop strategies to respond to violent crime and precipitous increases in crime at the tribal level. Key activities include a TTA needs assessment, on-site TTA, distance learning on issues relevant to prosecution, tribal, state and federal collaboration, tribal court and code development to address violent crime, judicial training, and national conference delivery.
