Digital Radio System Upgrades

The Weatherly Borough proposes to implement Digital Radio Communication for the Weatherly Police Department.  The purpose is to provide compatibility to communicate digitally with the surrounding Police Departments radio equipment. Project activities include updating the equipment to coordinate and upgrade to the same encrypted dual band radios of surrounding Police Departments that include Carbon, Luzerne and Schuylkill counties. Expected outcomes include improving the lines of communication to streamline communication for a faster response in times of crisis. The Weatherly Borough Police Department are the intended beneficiaries of the project. Subrecipient activities inlcude inter-agency cooperation with the surrounding police departments.
