Substance Identification Equipment

The Albuquerque Police Department (APD) acquires a high volume of drug-trafficking and drug-related arrests, which lead to a high volume of testing requests through the District Attorney’s Office. This includes the identification of such drugs as fentanyl. Testing of such leads to the wear and tear of the in-house GC/MS instrumentation. As such, the APD will utilize this funding to replace old GC/MS instrumentation, securing columns, and other disposables ensuring the ability to continue providing requested services related to the identification of substances.
