Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $1,230,000)

The Florence Police Department (FPD) proposes to implement the Public Safety Dispatch Center project. The purpose is to improve interoperable communications between the Public Safety Dispatch Center and public safety agencies operating within the incorporated limits of Florence, Arizona. Project activities include the procurement of mobile data computers, portable and mobile radios, body worn cameras, workforce management software, and furnishings to directly support the dispatch center with the latest communications technology. Expected outcomes include the ability of the FPD to participate in the Pinal County P25 Public Safety Communications System, a decrease in equipment downtime, decrease in call response times, and an increase in training levels of public safety dispatch center personnel.
