Public Safety Equipment and Law Enforcement Technology

The Marion County Sheriff's Department is seeking funding for our Smart Community Project. This project will integrate many types of technology into our law enforcement system. We have found that technology is needed to upgrade our fleet of vehicles with in-car systems to help officers combat crime. Also, we need additional technology for our investigators to use to investigate cases. The goal is to give the officers the advanced tools needed to enhance daily operations and make Marion County a safer place. The addition of video records, fingerprint scanners and facial recognition will be a example for others throughout the State to look upon as an example.
