Body-worn and Vehicle Cameras

The Statesville Police Department will be replacing the current body worn camera system with a new camera system. Current body cameras are 9 years old and no longer operate effectively, in addition, the current system including hardware and operating software is no longer supported by the manufacturer. New hardware and operating software will be purchased and installed over the coming 24 months and will support patrol and field officers. The service area of the Police Department is within the City limits of Statesville, NC located approximately 30 miles north of Charlotte, NC with a population of 29,000. Both officers and citizens will benefit from the public safety the new system supports.
