New Haven Police Training and Equipment Enhancement Project

The proposed project will support resources and programs that will improve the Department's ability to prepare for and monitor challenging incidents and events in New Haven with community policing as a guiding philosophy. Primary activities will be upgrades to our Training Academy, technology to improve efficiencies in data collection, and equipment to promote safety in crime investigations and youth-serving programs. Expected outcomes include improvements in the following: training and officer competencies, recruitment and retention of officers, data collection and processing, officer safety, and community safety.
