Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $963,000)

East Flatbush Village, Inc. seeks federal government funding to implement the EFV E.N.O.U.G.H. Arts & Anti-Violence Initiative, aimed at reducing gun violence and enhancing mental health support in Central Brooklyn neighborhoods, including Flatbush, East Flatbush, Canarsie, and East New York. Our comprehensive strategy includes establishing two community response teams: the E.N.O.U.G.H Crisis Management & Anti-Gun Violence Squad and the S.T.A.N.D Mobile Mental Health Crisis Unit. These teams will provide proactive crisis mediation, mental health services, and community resource support. By addressing the root causes of violence and mental health issues, EFV aims to create safer, healthier communities. The initiative will include career development sessions and community resource events to engage youth and foster a supportive environment. At the end of the project, we will produce a community impact report to guide future efforts in violence reduction and mental health support.
