The rise of extremism, hate crimes, continued mass-shootings, and calls to defund the police have resulted in the need for Monroe to increase security for those that work with and for the public.
To this extent, the Township will install of 26 new cameras and an access control system in the Monroe Township Municipal Building to help safeguard the lives of both the public servants and visitors in the building, including in the municipal court. The systems will allow for surveillance and access control throughout the building, ensuring that security and administrative personnel are able to quickly respond to any threat or emergency within. These improvements will provide an extra layer of security and harden the building, preventing unauthorized persons access to the municipal court and greater municipal building. Simultaneously, this project serves the National Security Priority of enhancing the protection of soft targets and crowded, enclosed spaces.
