Connecticut JRJ Program Formula Grant Solicitation

Before the start of the John R. Justice Grant Program, Connecticut employed 248 prosecutors and 213 public defenders. Today, the state employs 239 prosecutors and 238 public defenders. The program aims to encourage qualified attorneys to pursue careers as public defenders with the state of Connecticut or the federal government in Connecticut, or as prosecutors employed by the state. It provides repayment assistance for eligible applicants based on their financial need and years of service. Additionally, the program seeks to maintain effective outreach to potential beneficiaries through electronic and other communication methods.
