The Oklahoma Office of the Attorney General will utilize funding to purchase equipment to enhance its newly formed Digital Forensics Unit. The requested equipment includes Cellebrite, Magnet GrayKey, Magnet Axiom, and i2 Analyst Notebook subscription. These items will be used to increase processing time of evidence that is used in the prosecution of offenders. The Digital Forensics Unit enables the Attorney General’s Office to prosecute cases, but the Unit is also currently utilized by 29 other entities that helps prosecuting agencies across the state. As only one of two fully equipped digital forensics units in the state, the request for services is expected to rise. In the one-year timeframe since the unit was started, the case load has increased over 100%.
