Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $375,000)

The New York City Police Department (NYPD) is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of over 8.1 million residents in New York City. To address large-scale, transnational counterfeiting operations smuggling goods into the Tri-State area, the NYPD is requesting funding to sustain and grow its undercover operation. This operation is designed to uncover, infiltrate, and dismantle these criminal networks.

A collabprative task force has been formed, comprising the NYPD, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), and Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The NYPD successfully secured FY22 Intellectual Property Enforcement Program (IPEP) grant funding.The funding for FY22 is set to expire, therefore, funding for FY24 is being requested to continue building on the progress achieved during the 2022 project.
