The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office Forensic Laboratory proposes to continue to maintain a Forensic Biology Unit whose purpose is to process crime scene samples for Combined DNA Index System (CODIS) entry, for crimes which occurred within San Mateo County.

Project activities include providing continuing education to analysts in the Forensic Biology Unit and purchasing DNA testing kits. Expected outcomes include fulfilling the Federal Bureau of Investigation Quality Assurance Standards continuing education requirements for analysts, allowing them to continue performing casework, and test several hundreds of samples for DNA.
