The Louisiana Law Commission on Enforcement (LCLE) proposes to implement the Local Law Enforcement Assistance and Equipment Modernization Program, designated for funding in the Consolidated Appropriations Act, (Public Law 118-42). The Louisiana Sheriff’s Association is listed as the intended recipient in the consolidated appropriations act. LCLE agreed to serve as the applicant /recipient.

The purpose of this program is to provide resources to improve the functioning of the criminal justice system. The project will assist local Louisiana law enforcement agencies in the 2nd congressional district with funding to modernize equipment to improve the functioning of the criminal justice system, to prevent or combat juvenile delinquency, and assist victims of crime (other than compensation). Expected outcome for this program is to strengthen community safety.
