PBPN Healing to Wellness Court

Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation is a federally recognized tribe located in Jackson County, Kansas. In order to improve public safety and increase court services, including victim services to its tribal community, the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation requests CTAS Purpose Area #3 funding to enhance its existing Adult Healing to Wellness Court through staff position funding, training of justice staff, purchase of court equipment and supplies, and indigent public defender/Guardian Ad Litem funds. The requested funding will be allocated towards maintaining staff positions, including a coordinator, probation officer, and support for a contracted judge. Additionally, the funding will enable the organization to invest in staff training, procure necessary equipment, and replenish essential supplies.
