The Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians is a federally recognized Native American tribe located in Belcourt, North Dakota. Turtle Mountain tribal justice systems strive to provide all tribal citizens with a safe community through effective law enforcement, community education and justice for all. This funding will help ensure that the Tribal Court has the necessary staff and resources to improve public safety, accountability, and reliability through increased staff, updated technological equipment, and resources. With this funding, the judicial branch will hire an assistant clerk of court; hire a full-time juvenile prosecutor; implement updates ensure a safe and accessible court for all Tribal members; strengthen trust and confidence in the Tribal Court through transparency, accountability, and reliable information
