The proposed initiative, designed for small agencies like PPD, aims to reduce violent crime while fostering fair and accountable policing standards. With a comprehensive strategy rooted in evidence-based practices, community engagement, and collaborative partnerships, the project targets gang-related violence and recidivism. Key components include data analysis, targeted interventions, community outreach, and surveillance enhancements through CCTV cameras. Performance measurement involves systematic data collection, rigorous evaluation, and transparent reporting to ensure accountability and guide decision-making. Through this initiative, PPD endeavors to fulfill its mission of protecting and serving the community while addressing the root causes of crime in Passaic.
