Triad Transitions proposes to implement the FY 2024 Smart Reentry Housing Demonstration Program in the twelve counties of the Piedmont Triad region in North Carolina. The purpose is to develop a comprehensive, pre-release and post-release engagement plan with the goal of providing access to secure and stable housing opportunities for offenders returning to their communities. Project activities include establishing a Reentry Advisory Board; examining policies and practices related to housing gaps and creating an evaluation that tracks recidivism, housing outcomes, and wrap around service delivery. Pre-Release and Post-Release services will be provided to justice involved individuals in the 12 Piedmont Triad counties of North Carolina, the expected beneficiaries of the project. Expected outcomes will include: housing stability and economic mobility through individuals receiving customized supportive services through a regional networks of partnerships.
Project activities include: 1) convene a reentry task force to examine polices and practices related to housing gaps; 2) complete a planning and implementation guide; 3) produce a comprehensive evaluation tracking recidivism, housing outcomes, employment outcomes; and 4) successful wrap around services delivery.
Expected outcomes include: reducing barriers and promoting access to secure, stable housing opportunities.
