Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $986,031)
The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services is seeking funding through the FY2024 Adult Treatment Court Program in the Statewide Category for the Oklahoma Drug Court Infrastructure Project II. This project will provide a multi-faceted approach to enhance the state's drug court infrastructure. Oklahoma's drug court programs serve around 2,000 unique participants per year, all of whom will benefit from this program (8,000 over the 4-year project period). Oklahoma's drug courts target high to moderate-risk/high-need participants. Oklahoma has developed a statewide treatment network with the capability of providing medication-assisted treatment. This project will include the expansion of state-based training and technical assistance programs to increase fidelity to newly revised best practices and decrease staff turnover. The project objectives also include additional support for programs to assist participants in building recovery capital; for access to evidence-based treatment for opioid use disorder and decreasing overdoses; and for the development of marketing and recruitment materials to increase drug court census across the state.
