Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $963,415)

Suffolk County New York’s Office of Court Administration is seeking enhancement funding to expand services and increase the number of eligible participants enrolled in the Suffolk County Judicial Diversion Program (SCJDP), an adult drug court. The target population for the SCJDP include offenders facing felony drug charges. The SCJDP is a collaborative effort between the Tenth Judicial District in Suffolk County, New York, the Empower, Assist, Care EAC Network, a non-profit human service agency, Treatment Alternatives to Safer Communities program, and the Suffolk County Department of Probation. The project proposes to enroll 45 participants per year, 180 total for the duration of the 48 month grant period. The minimum amount of time a client will spend in SCJDP is 18 months.
