Alamance County proposes to establish the Alamance Adult Drug Treatment Court. The purpose is to develop a comprehensive, multidisciplinary, and best practices focused adult treatment court. The adult treatment court targets high-risk, high-need, non-violent individuals, who are post-adjudication, whose low-level felonies or misdemeanors are directly or indirectly motivated by drug and/or alcohol use. Project activities include establishing a robust multidisciplinary treatment approach; addressing co-occurring mental health challenges; frequent drug and alcohol testing; implementing evidence-based risk and need screening and assessment tools; and developing and implementing a multidisciplinary case management and coordination team. Expected outcomes include provision of evidence-based services; reduction in overdoses in Alamance County; reduced recidivism and regular program assessments. Alamance County aims to serve 150 individuals over the life of the grant and no more than 125 individuals at one time. The minimum length of participation in the program will be 12 months and the maximum 18 months, with the average participation length being 15 months. Individuals will have access to all types of medication-assisted treatment in the program.
