2024 PSP - Sacramento

The Sacramento Police Department (SPD) is requesting funding to eliminate current stop gaps and accelerate time-sensitive investigations through the upgrade of digital forensics solutions. The upgrade of digital forensic solutions will provide access to smart devices, allowing investigators to collect otherwise inaccessible digital evidence from known suspects and victims. Funding will also enable SPD to widen and safeguard its evidence storage capacity by moving it to the cloud and away from the vulnerabilities of its physical presence in a police facility. It will also provide for implementation of enhanced geospatial software solutions that will improve mapping abilities for internal and external uses, including public-facing dashboards that share the latest violent crime suppression results. Funding would also be sub-awarded to the District Attorney's Office to obtain software and/or programming services which can streamline internal operations and support more effective prosecution strategies.
