Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $136,971)
The goal of this SORNA Reallocation grant funding is to develop the Online Registration functionality making it possible for external agencies to submit offender and registration information to the BCA.
The BCA is focused on the following three goals and the related objectives:
Develop functionality for Corrections and Probations users to add a registration to an existing offender
Develop functionality for users to enter a new offender with one or more registrations
Develop functionality for offenders to electronically sign Registration Form, Change of Information and Homeless Check In forms
At the completion of the analysis and development, the Minnesota Predatory Offender Registration Electronic Submissions system will allow for creation of registrations electronically and for offender to electronically sign the Registration Form. The completion of this project moves the BCA closer to achieving substantial compliance with SORNA requirements “IV. Required Registration Information” and “VIII. Keeping the Registration Current”, within the constraints of Minnesota law.
