To implement a Body Worn Camera (BWC) program for the agency to improve the agency’s capacity to fulfill its stated mission of maintaining peace and order by providing quality police services that are fair, professional, respectful of the dignity of others, and responsive to the needs of the community. An effectively implemented BWC program has the potential to improve community relations, strengthen public trust in law enforcement, aid in the investigation of criminal acts, increase agency accountability, and improve officer training and evaluations.
