Crowd Control Equipment

The Warwick Police Department will use 2024 JAG funds to purchase essential crowd control personal protective equipment (PPE) to effectively safeguard both our officers and the public during periods of civil unrest and political-related violence. The proposed investment includes ballistic shields, fiberglass face shields, riot helmets, expandable batons and protective shin/arm pads for a dedicated team of 14 officers. This equipment will significantly enhance our capability to manage and de-escalate volatile situations while maintaining the safety of our personnel.
