Intersection Camera & Emergency Trauma Medical Kit

The Charlotte County Sheriff Office will use 2024 JAG funds to purchase intersection cameras. The cameras will enhance the safety and security of the community by expanding the existing system. The intersection camera system adds additional resources to benefit law enforcement in solving crimes, strengthening the current security infrastructure, addressing any traffic safety concerns within the community, and monitoring evacuation routes during an emergency.

The Punta Gorda Police Department will employ JAG funds to purchase emergency trauma medical kit for each of our officers. Events over the past few years have proven law enforcement officers need to be prepared to act in a medical capacity either as primary medics or assisting more traditional EMS units with additional resources and manpower.
