Fitchburg JAG Program

Through support provided by the Justice Assistance Grant, this department respectfully requests funds to purchase professional Smart TV video wall bundles and related accessories to upgrade our training room, roll-call room and the conference room.  The current equipment located in the training room is over eight years old, the equipment in the conference room is over five years and there is currently no equipment in the roll call room. Many of the functions on our existing systems are outdated and unavailable. This equipment will give the department the ability to watch roll call training videos, provide space for debriefings, COMPSTAT meetings, staff meetings, aid in investigations as well as allow for zoom meetings with our partners. This requested equipment will support the training and investigative needs of this department. Additionally, remaining funds will be used for community policing mobilizations. These mobilizations will be deployed in an effort to increase police presence at community related events, increased police presence in the downtown area, and targeted patrols in areas of increased criminal activity. It is the goal and objective of this program to purchase requested equipment to support the training and investigative needs of law enforcement as well as allocate funds to further this department’s community policing efforts
