The Central Falls Police Department proposes to utilize the JAG funds for improvements by upgrading equipment and supplies within our police department. The goal to purchase cameras that will provide a much-needed upgrade to our B.C.I. Detective Division. The cameras will be utilized by our investigative division - to capture crime scenes or any active investigation by our department. Photographs are an important staple and investigatory tool that help visually record a crime scene and the location of evidence; these photos capture the physical settings, which help reconstruct the events that transpired at the scene. Today, photographs are an essential part of any investigation and the prosecuting of a crime. Therefore, the upgrades to our investigative division cameras will only enhance our evidence collection abilities. Replacement of old holsters for all sworn police officers. This upgrade to our officers’ holsters will ensure that all officers have the same most current equipment departmental wide. These upgraded holsters are built to withstand weather/elements such as extreme heat or cold, while maintaining their structural integrity; as well as provide extra measures to provide security and safety for all our officers. LED Sights will be utilized by patrol officers - known as red dot sights to assist officers during low light/night patrols. These sights will be utilized for and during our annual qualifications - specifically for the night/low light portions of qualifications and training.
